My dad's really struggling with his COPD. He can barely walk 20 meters without having trouble breathing. He's taking Trinose, Montelukast, Acebrophylline, and Finofixodine tablets, plus an inhaler, but it doesnt seem to be helping much. Is there anything else we can try or do for better relief? Its really worrying me.

I've been experiencing this weird, persistent cough once a day or so, and each time it comes with this white, sticky phlegm. It only seems to stop after I somehow manage to clear it all out. Sometimes I even have to force myself to vomit just to get it out of my throat. Also, I've noticed a whistling or wheezing sound when I breathe in while Im coughing. Could you help me figure out what's going on, and suggest who I should reach out to for help?

Pulmonologist opinion is advised to the patient.

I'm a bit worried because I accidentally inhaled a small piece of rice while eating yesterday. Could this cause any harm, and is there a chance it might dissolve on its own? I'm also concerned about the possibility of getting an infection. What should I do?

A small foreign body, such as a piece of rice, getting into the lungs can potentially cause irritation or infection. It is important to seek medical attention promptly if you are experiencing symptoms such as persistent cough, chest pain, difficulty breathing, or fever. In some cases, the foreign body may need to be removed by a medical professional. I recommend visiting a doctor for further evaluation and treatment.

I've been having trouble with my breathing for like 3 months now, and I'm kinda lost on what to do next. I've already done some tests like an ECG, and it showed my heartbeat is a bit faster than normal. Plus, I've had normal results for my X-ray and thyroid function test. In my latest blood tests, my triglycerides, SGPT, SGOT, and uric acid are just slightly above normal. I've also gained some weight during quarantine and got a bit of a belly. I'm just wondering if all of this could be related to my breathing issues or shortness of breath? Any advice on what might be going on or what I should do?

Physician opinion is advised to the patient.
