Question

My fasting test report shows the following: Total cholesterol: 265 mg/dl, Triglycerides: 256 mg/dl, HDL: 44.8 mg/dl, LDL: 171 mg/dl, VLDL: 171 mg/dl, Non HDL: 220 mg/dl. Could you please assist in interpreting these results? What could be the possible reasons for these values, and is this really risky?

Your lipid profile indicates high cholesterol, especially LDL and triglycerides. It increases the risk of heart disease. Causes include poor diet, lack of exercise, obesity, or genetics. Lifestyle changes and possibly medicines are needed. Repeat lipid test in 3 months.
