I noticed some swelling near my tailbone and it looks like it might be a pilonidal sinus. Which specialist should I see for this and will I need surgery to treat it
Swelling near the tailbone could indeed indicate a pilonidal sinus, a condition characterized by a small, often painful, pit or hole in the skin near the tailbone. These sinuses can become infected, leading to swelling, pain, and sometimes pus drainage. If you suspect a pilonidal sinus, it's best to consult with a general surgeon for a proper diagnosis and treatment plan.
