My father has been experiencing fever for the last 3 days. His Widal test report shows S. Paratyphi O antigen at 1:80 and S. Paratyphi H antigen at 1:80. I would like to know if these results are normal or if they clearly indicate typhoid. Please clarify if we need to be concerned.

Widal at 1:80 is borderline. If patient has typhoid symptoms, antibiotics may be needed. If afebrile and improving, monitor.
Dr. Hema Suggests...
Take a WIDAL TEST (TUBE METHOD) Test or Take a CULTURE AND SENSITIVITY - AEROBIC (BLOOD) Test

View allPlease confirm whether I have typhoid based on my Widal test results, O antigen is 1:160 and H antigen is 1:160. I have heard that values above 1:160 may suggest typhoid. I have been having chills, high fever up to 102.6F, cold, cough, and body aches. After taking Paracetamol, Aceclofenac and Cefigard 200, my symptoms have subsided. Should I continue with the same prescription? Also, my CBP is normal, and the urine report shows pus cells of 5 to 6 HPF and epithelial cells is 2 to 4 HPF.

My brother has typhoid, but the doctor prescribed me Tab Cifran 250, Tab Dolo 650, and Tab Becosules. I feel these tablets may not be proper. Can I take these tablets? My blood report shows Salmonella typhi O: 1:160, Salmonella typhi H: 1:160, Salmonella paratyphi AH: 1:20, and Salmonella paratyphi BH: 1:20. What precautions should be taken?

My Widal test report from two weeks ago shows S. Typhi O at 1:160 and S. Typhi H at 1:320. I am a 34 year old male and would like to know if this indicates typhoid. If yes, please suggest the appropriate diet and medications. Additionally, a few bacteria were found in my urine, and some white fat was observed in the blood sample during the test.
