My health insurance is refusing to cover the cost of my flap surgery saying it's just normal dental treatment or cosmetic. They cover all surgeries but claim this doesn't qualify. Is flap surgery really considered cosmetic or should it be covered under medical insurance?

Whether surgery is needed depends on the exact diagnosis, size, and severity of the condition. Some cases can be managed without surgery, while others may require it for effective treatment. A detailed evaluation will help decide the best course of action.

I've had braces before to fix my front teeth sticking out, but I'm still not happy with how they look. Would upper jaw surgery be an option for me? I'm a bit worried about whether it's necessary or what the process would be like.
Jaw surgery may be a corrective option if you have a jaw condition that braces alone can't fix. Usually, you also have braces on your teeth before surgery and while you recover after surgery until healing and alignment are complete
