My husband has grade 4 piles and we're really hoping to avoid surgery. Are there any other treatments or cures that could help manage his condition? We're worried about the pain and discomfort he's going through. What options do we have besides surgery?

my dad noticed a painful lump near his anus and when we checked with a torch, there's a protruding lump on the side of the anus. it's making it hard for him to pass stool since it seems to be partially blocking the opening. could this lump be cancerous or is there a way to treat it without surgery?

It sounds like your dad may have an anal abscess or possibly an external hemorrhoid, both of which can cause a painful lump and difficulty passing stool. While cancer is less common, it’s important he gets a prompt evaluation by a doctor for an accurate diagnosis. Treatment often starts with conservative measures like warm sitz baths, pain relief, and stool softeners, but some cases may need minor procedures or surgery. Please advise him to see a healthcare professional soon.

My husband has been dealing with an anal issue for about 35 days now. He's really uncomfortable whether he's walking or sitting, and there are three lumps near his anus. We're living in different cities because of work so I'm worried. He says it's painful and that he's having regular bowel movements. He's also feeling a bit feverish and can't really concentrate at work. He's been doing warm compresses with Betadine twice a day, but since yesterday it's not helping either. What could be going on, and how can we help him feel better?

Immediate action required: 1. Wash the wound with soap and water. 2. Apply antibiotic ointment and cover with a bandage. 3. Seek medical attention within 24 hours for a tetanus shot and rabies post-exposure prophylaxis (PEP). 4. Monitor your dog's behavior and health for the next 10 days. 5. Consult your veterinarian about vaccinating your dog as soon as possible. Precaution: Rabies risk is higher if your dog isn't vaccinated.
