My mom's CT value was 1325 even after getting 10 injections of Remdesivir and it's been 20 days now, but her CT value is still 1425. She's also having some trouble with her oxygen levels. I'm really worried about what this means for her condition and what steps we should take next. Could you help me understand what's going on?

Understanding CT Value and Its Implications
- CT (Cycle Threshold) value indicates viral load; higher values suggest lower viral presence. Persistent high CT values may indicate ongoing infection or testing variability.
-
Significance of Oxygen Level Issues
- Low oxygen levels can signal respiratory distress and require urgent medical attention to prevent complications.
-
Evaluation of Remdesivir Treatment
- Remdesivir is used to treat COVID-19. If CT values remain high, it may suggest limited response or need for additional interventions.
-
Immediate Steps to Take
- Monitor oxygen levels closely. Seek urgent medical evaluation and consider hospital admission if oxygen saturation is low.
-
Further Diagnostic and Treatment Options
- Additional tests like chest imaging and blood tests may be needed. Treatments could include oxygen therapy and steroids.
-
Importance of Specialist Consultation
- Consult with infectious disease specialists or pulmonologists for tailored management.
-
Supportive Care and Home Monitoring
- Ensure adequate hydration, nutrition, and symptom monitoring at home if appropriate.
-
When to Seek Emergency Care
- Seek immediate care for severe breathlessness or very low oxygen saturation.

View allI've been having this breathlessness issue for a while now. It's strange because I don't have asthma and my blood pressure is normal. The doctor did some kind of small lung test using this tiny machine on my finger, and that came out normal too. But I keep getting this really frequent cough and have problems with acidity. Could they be related? I'm wondering if this is something serious. What's your take on it?
While your symptoms might not necessarily indicate something major, it's important to address them proactively. GERD, post-nasal drip, or even stress could be contributing to your symptoms. If the symptoms persist or worsen, consult your doctor for further evaluation to rule out other conditions

My mom has bronchial asthma and had surgery to remove air from her lungs, but the X-ray still shows some air trapped inside. She's a bit overweight and tries to walk daily, but gets breathless after just a few steps. What can we do to help her breathe better and manage this?
To improve your mom's breathing and manage her air trapping after surgery, focus on managing her asthma, weight, and breathing exercises, and consider consulting with a pulmonologist

I'm really concerned about my oxygen levels since I've tested positive for COVID-19. As of May 2nd, my oxygen level is at 92. The PCR results showed I'm COVID-19 positive with an E gene Ct value of 23 and an RdRp gene Ct value of 21. What do these Ct values mean? Should I be worried about the oxygen level too? Is there anything specific I need to do or look out for?
