My mother needs to use the toilet 2 to 3 times a day, and her stools are watery. She was previously taking Vibact and Rifagut 400 under a doctor prescription, which helped, but the problem has recurred. Should she continue the same medication, or are there other medicines she can take? She also had a stool test, which was normal.

If stool test is normal, this may be post infectious IBS or gut flora imbalance. You can restart Vibact and Rifagut with doctor approval. Give curd, soft rice, banana, ORS, and avoid outside and spicy food. If no relief in 3to5 days, repeat Stool Routine, CRP, and check Calprotectin.

Dr. Yusuf Suggests...

Take a CRP Test (C - Reactive Protein) Test or Take a Fecal Calprotectin Test Test
