My mother recently underwent a full body checkup, and the cardiac risk markers test showed that her High Sensitivity C Reactive Protein (HS CRP) level is 14.83, whereas the normal level should be less than 3. Should she undergo any additional tests to check for possible cardiac issues?

An HS CRP level of 14.83 is high and indicates inflammation, which can be due to infection or increase cardiac risk. It is important to rule out any active infection first, as this can temporarily raise HS CRP levels. If no infection is found, a cardiac evaluation with ECG and echocardiogram may be considered. Continue a heart healthy lifestyle with diet and exercise as advised by your doctor. Follow up with your physician to decide further management. Consider checking CRP levels.

View allMy father received the Covaxin vaccine on 3rd April. For the past 15 days, he has had a fever ranging from 99 to 101F, which is partially relieved with Crocin. COVID antigen and RTPCR tests were negative. He is also experiencing shortness of breath (28 breaths per minute). His recent blood reports show: RBC: 2.1 million/microlitre Hemoglobin: 9.2 g/dl WBC: 14.4 by 10000/microlitre CRP: 217 Serum creatinine: 3.21 mg/dl Iron: 24 microgram/dl Bilirubin direct: 0.6 mg/dl Urine report is normal, with no pus or abnormalities, and he has no issues while passing urine. Could his continuous fever, shortness of breath, and anemia be due to kidney problems? Please advise what could be causing these symptoms and the next steps for evaluation and treatment.

After my mother blood test results, we found that her C reactive protein is positive. Is this a major concern? Could you please suggest preventive measures?
