Question
My Widal test report shows: S. Typhi O: 1:160 (positive) S. Typhi H: 1:80 (positive) I took medication for typhoid, but I still experienced headache, nausea, and giddiness. I consulted another doctor, who said the Widal report may not be reliable and it could just be a viral fever. Could you please clarify whether this report indicates typhoid or not?

A Widal titer of 1:160 could suggest typhoid, but false positives are common. Persistent symptoms may indicate viral or another bacterial infection. Clinical correlation is essential. Repeat Widal test and perform CBC, Typhidot and blood culture.
Dr. Yusuf Suggests...
Take a CBC Test (Complete Blood Count) Test or Take a Typhidot Test Test
