My wife has been suffering from hypothyroidism for the past two months. Her TSH increased after taking medication for a month (50 mcg Eltroxine). The doctor has suggested increasing the dosage to 100 mcg for two months before doing another blood test. She has also been advised to follow a low glycemic diet. I want to get a second opinion?

If TSH increased even after 50 mcg Eltroxin, it means the dosage was insufficient for her body needs. It is common to adjust Eltroxin dose within the first few months of treatment.
