My wife has thoracic outlet syndrome caused by a cervical rib and was told she needs surgery to remove it on her left side. What are the common complications after this type of surgery? She's also worried about whether the post-op meds might cause major hair loss.

Whether surgery is needed depends on the exact diagnosis, size, and severity of the condition. Some cases can be managed without surgery, while others may require it for effective treatment. A detailed evaluation will help decide the best course of action.

View allI suddenly felt a small, painful lump like a ball in my right thigh when I pressed it. Could this be a blood clot or just a muscle knot? It's causing discomfort, and I'm wondering if there are any solutions besides surgery. What do you think it might be?
Several factors can cause lumps on the thigh, including trauma (injury or accident), infections, inflammatory diseases, benign tumors, or even cancer. In cases of inflammatory diseases, thigh lumps are often due to swollen lymph nodes, which indicate the body's response to fighting infection or inflammation.

my friend was diagnosed with a dissecting aneurysm in the infrarenal part of the abdominal aorta that goes into the right common iliac artery is surgery absolutely necessary or can it be managed with medications
Infrarenal dissecting aneurysms usually require surgical or endovascular repair to prevent rupture;medical management alone is high risk.
