Since the past week, I have been waking up with a dry mouth and pain in both ears. Over the last three days, I have also experienced slight fever, runny nose, and headache. Could this indicate a more serious health problem? Additionally, my doctor prescribed Atorcor 20 mg daily for 3 months to reduce cholesterol, but I have been taking it irregularly. My cholesterol is around 250 to 270 mg/dL. Should I continue this medication regularly?

Your symptoms of dry mouth, ear pain, fever, runny nose, and headache likely suggest a viral infection or sinus related issue and are not usually a sign of a severe problem. Stay hydrated, take steam inhalation, and monitor your symptoms. If ear pain or fever persists, consult your doctor for further treatment. Regarding cholesterol, since your levels are 250 to 270, it is advisable to continue Atorcor 20 mg daily as prescribed to manage cholesterol and reduce long term heart risks. A lipid profile test after 3 months of taking medications should be done to monitor the cholesterol levels.

Hi Doctor, I am a 26 year old male. Here are my recent lipid profile results: Total Cholesterol: 144 mg/dl HDL: 39 mg/dl LDL: 85 mg/dl VLDL: 20 mg/dl Triglycerides: 102 mg/dl

I recently underwent a lipid profile test, and my results show that my VLDL cholesterol is 67 (normal range is 7 to 40) and triglycerides are 335 (classified as high, with a range of 200 to 499). I would like to understand what these results mean, whether they indicate harmful levels, and what steps I should take to address them. I have attached the report for your detailed review.
