Sir, in my report, my platelet count is 50,000/cu.mm, WBC is 4,000, and RBC is 4,000. Please tell me if this is a critical case? I have shown this to a doctor, but they did not provide any advice.

Platelet count of 50,000 is low and needs evaluation for bleeding risks. WBC 4000 is borderline low. Causes could be viral illness, dengue, or bone marrow suppression. Please consult a hematologist urgently.

View allMy 5 years 4 months old daughter, weighing 19 kg, has been having fever. We visited the hospital and the doctor advised CALPAL if fever is more than 101F and MEFTHAL P if more than 101F, and asked us to revisit after 2 days if the fever persisted. The fever has been on and off with medicine. We consulted the doctor again. She prescribed an antibiotic syrup (ZIPRAX 100) and suggested a CBC test. The results are mostly normal, but the platelet count is 1.20 L/mm (I understand the normal range should be 1.5 to 4 L/mm). Today, my daughter is also feeling dull. What should be done?

My father is suffering from low platelet count. Every time his test report shows between 45,000 to 15,000 per microliter. He was admitted to the hospital for a week, and the last day report showed 95,000 per microliter. Now the doctor has recommended a bone marrow test. Our whole family is worried. Please suggest. I am from Kanpur, UP.
