Is there any relationship between vitamin B12 and liver? I have B12 deficiency even though I am non vegetarian (homocysteine is normal). My liver report shows indirect bilirubin 1.19, total bilirubin 1.39, and GGT 67, which are beyond the normal range. Is there any connection between the B12 deficiency and liver report? Last year I had acidity issues and the doctor prescribed Pantocid and Refagut 400 for 30 days. I also have excess vitamin K in my test report. I am non alcoholic.

While liver plays a role in storing B12, deficiency is more often due to poor absorption, not liver dysfunction. Elevated GGT and bilirubin may indicate mild liver stress, but not directly due to B12. Monitor both.

Dr. Dhankecha Suggests...

Take a Vitamin B12 Test Test or Take a LFT (Liver Function) Test Test

I have been having chronic lower back pain for the last one year. Low vitamin B12 and D3 were found in my blood report. The X ray report shows L3 L4 L5 disc space reduction and degenerated disc disease with muscle spasm. I had treatment three times and every time after medicine and physiotherapy the pain comes back even after doing exercises and maintaining proper sitting in office. What can be done to get cured from this frustrating lower back pain?

In summer, my body temperature is normal, but I feel like my face, arms, and feet are burning and uncomfortable. Sometimes there is swelling in my feet. Sometimes my feet, arms, and face feel warm to touch. It feels like heat is being radiated from my arms, face, and feet. I remain tired all day. Pain in the muscles of my legs is always present and increases in the evening. Almost every evening, fluid discharge starts from inside my nose, and I feel pain in my eyes and throat. My nose gets blocked, making it difficult to breathe through it. My CBC is normal. My thyroid is normal. My blood sugar tests are normal. I have had no weight gain or loss in the past few months. I am taking a proper diet. Please suggest a solution for these problems?
