What is the relationship between weight loss and diabetes?
Answered by 1 Apollo Doctors
When you weigh less, your pancreas is better able to keep up with your body's need for insulin. It also lessens your risk for other serious complications of diabetes, including heart problems, kidney disease and nerve damage.

Regular and consistent diet is most important, with no feasts and fasts. Split your diet into 3-4 meals. Avoid sugar and sugar containing foods, and fried foods. Avoid fats (butter, oil, malai) and fat rich foods (puri, paratha, chat, namkeen etc.) Choose healthy carbohydrates, such as fruit, vegetables, whole grains, beans, and low-fat milk, as part of your diabetes meal plan.

I've been dealing with low appetite, gum swelling, bleeding, bad breath, and very little saliva. My nose feels blocked, I have indigestion, piles, and this weird lump sensation in my throat. My hair's also turning grey early. All this started after my ear surgery in 2014. Blood tests showed high TSH levels, so I might have hypothyroidism. I read that drinking more water helps with mucus, but I'm not sure if I'm overdoing it. My lifestyle's pretty inactive what changes should I make and are there any medications that could help?
