Why does my throat always hurt when I drink cold water or have anything cold? It started about 8 months ago, and I'm getting a bit worried about it. Do you think it's something serious, or is there anything I can try to help with the pain?

The doctor is recommending surgery for my sinus issues in the nose but I'm not sure if it's the right option. What are the risks and benefits of sinus surgery, and are there any alternatives I should consider first? I'm a bit worried about going under the knife for this.
Very few people need surgery for sinusitis. Most people can treat the problem with home care and medicines. Surgery may be a good choice for some people who have chronic (long-term) sinusitis. If medicines and self-care have not helped with your symptoms, surgery can remove blockages and make the sinus openings bigger
