Dear doctor, if typhoid is positive in the lab report, is hospital admission required, or can I take antibiotic injections in the morning and evening on a day care basis like a general OP patient? Please advise. If admission and IV fluids are required, how many days will it take to cure?

Typhoid can often be treated without hospital admission if the patient is stable and eating well. Severity and hospital stay can be best decided by the consulting doctor. Please follow as advised. Recovery with antibiotics and fluids typically takes 7 to 10 days.

Will I always have eosinophilia? How can it be cured permanently? Am I at higher risk of eosinophilia in the future?

Hi, I am 5 months pregnant with my first baby. In my recent blood test, my platelet count has risen to 700,000, and my WBC is 11,200, which seems high. My doctor has advised me to do PT, APTT, INR, and Hb electrophoresis and to consult a hematologist. This is the first time my platelet count has been elevated, my last report was completely normal. Could this change be related to pregnancy? I am unsure how to proceed and would like guidance, as all my other reports are normal.
