Question
Hello Doctor, Almost a month ago, my daughter started complaining of stomachache after every meal and had loose motions about twice a day. Her blood test showed a hemoglobin level of 6.1 g/dL. The doctor advised hemoglobin injections (Vitcofol 10 mL, 5 injections). Even after taking the injections, her hemoglobin only increased to 6.5 g/dL in about a month, and the stomachache persists. She is now taking homeopathic medication for her stomach, which has helped somewhat, but I am still worried about her very low hemoglobin. Kindly suggest what medication can help improve her hemoglobin and what could be the main reason for this condition.

Persistent low Hb with GI symptoms may point to malabsorption (e.g. celiac or hookworm). Iron, folate treatment and stool test advised.
Dr. Ezhilarasan Suggests...
Take a IRON STUDIES (IRON + TIBC) Test or Take a STOOL OCCULT BLOOD Test
