Hello, I am 28 years old and 21 weeks pregnant. My doctor asked me to get an OGCT test done. For that, she asked me to dissolve G75 in 2 glasses of water and give a sample after 2 hours. Does G75 have any adverse effects on the growing fetus? Is G75 safe to be consumed in pregnancy?

G75 is a glucose powder used for the OGCT (Oral Glucose Challenge Test) during pregnancy. It helps check for gestational diabetes and is routinely used in pregnancy. It does not harm the growing fetus and is considered safe. Mild nausea may occur after drinking it, which is normal. You can book the OGCT test as advised to monitor your sugar levels in pregnancy.
