Question
Hi Sir, I got my blood test done yesterday because I have been suffering from fever. The results are: Platelets: 2.3 lakh SGOT: 74 SGPT: 64 Bilirubin: 0.6 Dengue and malaria: Negative Could these results indicate hepatitis? For context, I am a heavy drinker and overweight. Please advise.

SGOT (74) and SGPT (64) are mildly elevated and can be due to alcohol use, viral infection, or fatty liver. Normal bilirubin and platelets are a good sign this does not confirm hepatitis, but cannot rule it out either. Fever and alcohol history make it important to test for hepatitis viruses and liver health. Avoid alcohol completely and consult a doctor for full evaluation.
