I am 26 years old. My last period was on April 26, and I did not get my period in May. I performed home pregnancy tests on June 3 and June 7, both of which were negative. I consulted a gynecologist, who prescribed Deviry 10 mg for 7 days and advised that if my period still does not occur, I should repeat a pregnancy test. Is there still a chance that I could be pregnant?

Two negative home pregnancy tests (on June 3 and 7) after a missed period are strongly reassuring. Deviry is given to trigger a period bleeding usually starts within 7 to 10 days after stopping it. Your doctor advice is correct if no period after Deviry, repeat a beta hCG test to be sure. Pregnancy is unlikely, but the blood test confirms 100 percent.

View allDear Doctor, I delivered a baby girl via cesarean section. Since past week, I have been feeling weak. Today, I did a home pregnancy test, and it came out positive. I am worried because I recently delivered and am concerned about being pregnant again so soon. Could you please advise if this result is likely valid, and what steps I should take next?

Hi Doctor. I have been observing a faint pink line four days after my missed period. I did a beta HCG test on the fifth day of my missed period, and the reading was 106.7. Can this be considered positive?

How many days of pregnancy can be detected through a serum beta hCG test, and how accurate is it? Is there any other test to confirm pregnancy?
