I did my thyroid test last week for the first time because my body weight is not reducing even after hard exercise. My blood test shows T3 and T4 are normal, but TSH level is increased to 21. How can I reduce it?

High TSH with normal T3/T4 is equal to subclinical hypothyroidism. Weight gain is common. Start low dose levothyroxine under supervision. Recheck TSH in 6 weeks.
Dr. Shaik Suggests...
Take a Thyroid Profile (T3 T4 TSH) Test Test or Take a THYROID PEROXIDASE ANTIBODIES (ANTI MICROSOMAL ANTIBODIES) Test

View allMy wife is currently taking Thyronorm 75 mcg. Before conceiving, her TSH level was 3. Now, at 5 weeks pregnant, her latest TSH level is 4.73. The reference range for TSH in the first trimester is below 4.5. Could you please advise if this level is a concern and if any changes to her medication or treatment are needed?
