I have been experiencing sneezing episodes every early morning and at night for several days. Last Tuesday evening, I developed cold and fever with chills. The next day, a physician diagnosed it as a viral infection and prescribed azithromycin and oseltamivir. The fever has subsided, but the cold is still persisting. Today, my Widal test came back positive with a titre of 1:160. However, I understand that Widal can be falsely positive in viral infections. What should I do next?

A Widal titre of 1:160 can give false positives during viral infections and is not confirmatory for typhoid. Since your fever has subsided, and only cold persists, continue fluids, rest, and symptomatic care. If fever returns, or you develop weakness or digestive symptoms, consult your doctor. To confirm typhoid, do a Typhidot IgM or Blood Culture if symptoms persist.

Take a Typhidot Test Test or Take a CULTURE AND SENSITIVITY - AEROBIC (BLOOD) Test

View allMy 2 year 10 month old child has been having fever for the last 4 days. We did CBC and urine tests, which were normal, and dengue and malaria tests, which were negative. The fever subsided on the 5th day but returned on the 6th day, with the child head and body feeling very hot and temperatures above 101F. After taking Paracetamol 250 mg, the temperature temporarily reduced, but it rises again after about 6 hours.

I had a fever for a few days, and my recent test results indicate typhoid fever at a late stage, but I have not started any treatment yet. My Widal test results are as follows, S.T.O is 1:320, S.T.H is 1:160, S.T.AH is 1:160, S.T.BH is 1:80. Please advise on the next steps for treatment.

Respected Sir/Madam, I am having mild fever and weakness along with pain in the calf and lower back. At times I also experience headache, sweating, and feeling cold. Today I got my test done. I have already completed a 5 day course of antibiotics but I still feel feverish. My test report shows that I am Widal positive weakly and my LFT results are SGPT 128 and SGOT 73. I have attached the report. Kindly suggest what should be done.
