I have had a fever since last Sunday. Blood tests showed: Dengue NS1 Antigen is Positive, IgM Antibodies is Negative, IgG Antibodies is Positive. I would like to know: Under what conditions or severity of dengue should a patient be hospitalized? Is there any specific medicine available in India for treating dengue?

NS1 positive with IgM negative and IgG positive indicates an early or secondary dengue infection. Hospitalization is needed if platelets fall below 80,000, bleeding occurs, or if theres vomiting, severe pain, or dehydration. Monitor with daily Platelet Count, CBC, and LFT. Currently, India has no specific antiviral medicine for dengue only supportive care like fluids and fever control. Recovery usually takes 7 to 10 days with monitoring.

I initially had a sinus headache, which gradually disappeared. After that, I have been having a fever for over 15 days. My urine test is normal, and my CBC blood report shows a marginally low platelet count of 1.49 lakh. The doctor prescribed only Paracetamol, which provides temporary relief for a few hours. Doctor, what could be the cause of this prolonged fever? I do not have any other symptoms besides fever and fatigue.
