I took a thyroid test due to hair loss. My blood report shows normal T3 (73 ng) and T4 (9 microgram) levels, but TSH is slightly elevated at 7.46 microIU. Is this normal? Could this be the cause of my hair loss? Do I need any medication to control the TSH level? Please suggest.

Mildly high TSH suggests subclinical hypothyroidism, which may contribute to hair loss. Consult an endocrinologist for levothyroxine trial, especially if symptoms persist. Retest TSH in 6 to 8 weeks.

View allHi Sir, We recently did a thyroid test for my wife, who gave birth 5 months ago. The results are: T3: 2.96, T4: 0.54, TSH: 62. Is this normal after delivery, or should we start treatment? If treatment is started, will her thyroid levels come down to normal?
