The lab report shows HbA1c 6.70, serum creatinine 2.75, uric acid 10.4, serum chloride 95, blood urea 120, BUN 56.1, hemoglobin 9.8, and blood sugar 113. Are these values normal? What should be done?

You have uncontrolled diabetes (HbA1c 6.7), impaired kidney function (creatinine 2.75, urea 120, BUN 56.1), hyperuricemia, and anemia (Hb 9.8). This needs urgent nephrologist and diabetologist care. Dietary changes, hydration, sugar control, and possible uric acid lowering agents are needed. Repeat RFT, CBC, HbA1c after 2 weeks.

Dr. Vasanthasree Suggests...

Take a KFT with Electrolytes (Kidney Funtion) Test or Take a HbA1c Test (Hemoglobin A1c) Test

I am a 16 year old CKD patient. I have been on dialysis for one month, three times a week. I was hospitalized on 2nd October when my creatinine was 13.50. On 5th October, my creatinine reduced to 6.40. Now my creatinine is 10.30 before dialysis. As per the report of 9th October, urine albumin and occult blood are present, pus cells are 6 to 8/hpf, and RBC is 2 to 3/hpf. Urine total protein/creatinine ratio is 3.37. I want a second opinion. Is this curable?

Hi, please suggest based on the below symptoms and test report. A 64 year old female has creatinine 1.19, phosphorus 4.41, potassium 5.40, and chloride 110.00, all high. HbA1c is 6.2 and fasting sugar is 131, which is high. TSH is 2.88 and controlled. ESR is 16 and C reactive protein is 3.82. Historically, she is taking Telvas 40 for high blood pressure and Eltroxine 100 mg for thyroid, which is controlled in the current report. She was previously diagnosed with high ESR around 90 and high C reactive protein, but this time both are controlled. Please suggest what action should be taken?
