My 2 year 10 month old child has been having fever for the last 4 days. We did CBC and urine tests, which were normal, and dengue and malaria tests, which were negative. The fever subsided on the 5th day but returned on the 6th day, with the child head and body feeling very hot and temperatures above 101F. After taking Paracetamol 250 mg, the temperature temporarily reduced, but it rises again after about 6 hours.

If your childs fever keeps returning despite normal tests and medicine, it may be due to a viral infection or early bacterial illness that hasnt shown in earlier reports. Since the fever is persisting past 5 days and returning after medicine wears off, its important to follow up with your pediatrician. They may suggest further tests like Typhoid IgM, CRP, or even a blood culture to rule out infections. Keep your child well hydrated and avoid giving medicine more frequently than advised.
