My baby is 12 days old. When he was 3 days old, he was admitted to the NICU due to a jaundice level of 19.3 mg/dL. He was discharged the next day when the level dropped to 11.3 mg/dL. Today, on the 12th day, a repeat test showed that the jaundice level has risen to 18.4 mg/dL. Please advise what should be done and any possible solutions

Jaundice can reappear in newborns. A level of 18.4 at day 12 needs monitoring. May require phototherapy again. Continue breastfeeding. Repeat Serum Bilirubin and consult pediatrician.
