My blood test report shows ASO 200, and my doctor has diagnosed me with arthritis. I would like to know if this condition can be cured, and what treatment or steps I should follow.

ASO 200 suggests recent streptococcal infection, which can trigger joint inflammation or rheumatic fever. This type of arthritis is usually treatable with antibiotics, anti inflammatory drugs, and follow up. Consult a rheumatologist for long term management if symptoms persist.

Dr. Siri Suggests...

Take a ASO Test (Anti Streptolysin-O) Test

Hello Doctor, I am a 24 year old male experiencing persistent knee pain along with occasional hip discomfort. I initially consulted an orthopedic doctor who advised me to do exercises, but there was no improvement. I then visited a rheumatologist who prescribed SAAZ 1000 mg, Zycel 200 mg, and administered a Solumedrol injection. The pain subsided for a while, but after about a month, it returned. I had stopped all medications by then and went back to an orthopaedic doctor, who prescribed Mexate 7.5 mg once a week. My blood test showed that HLA B27 is positive, but all other parameters were within the normal range. I am now confused about whether this is spondyloarthritis or rheumatoid arthritis. Additionally, I have a personal concern, I masturbate daily, and I would like to know if this could have any effect on my joint or knee pain.
