My mother has diabetes and today her urine report says pus and red blood cells persist. She has pain for the last 5 days. Before 10 days she took the covid vaccine. What should I do? Please suggest.

In diabetic patients, persistent RBCs and pus cells (likely paru refers to pus cells) in urine can indicate a urinary tract infection. Since she also has pain and got vaccinated recently, infection is more likely than vaccine side effect. Start her on fluids and consult a doctor soon.

Dr. Kamran Suggests...

Take a Urine Routine Test Test or Take a Urine Culture Test Test

My mother is 38 years old and has been suffering from urinary tract infections along with kidney stones for the past 3 years. Recently, most of the stones were removed, but a small stone remains. She now experiences very frequent urination. Her recent urine report shows the presence of albumin, low urine volume of 20 ml, amber coloured urine with a turbid appearance, aromatic odor, and sediment containing red blood cells and pus cells in full field. Given these symptoms and lab findings, please advise on the best approach to treat her condition permanently.

As soon as I drink water, it becomes urine within half an hour, and I feel the urge to go to the bathroom very often. I feel like my body is not absorbing the water properly and it goes straight into my bladder. I also feel pain due to frequent urination. This problem becomes worse when I masturbate or have sex. I sometimes feel itching and moisture near that area, even though I keep it clean. Earlier, when I went to the hospital for this problem, there was a minor UTI in the test report, and the doctor prescribed antibiotics. Now, I am not sure if it is the same problem this time or something else. If it is the same, I want to know why it keeps happening and what I can do to prevent it? Thanks in advance for helping me clear my doubts.
