My mother recently underwent a full body checkup, and the cardiac risk markers test showed that her High Sensitivity C Reactive Protein (HS CRP) level is 14.83, whereas the normal level should be less than 3. Should she undergo any additional tests to check for possible cardiac issues?

An HS CRP level of 14.83 is high and indicates inflammation, which can be due to infection or increase cardiac risk. It is important to rule out any active infection first, as this can temporarily raise HS CRP levels. If no infection is found, a cardiac evaluation with ECG and echocardiogram may be considered. Continue a heart healthy lifestyle with diet and exercise as advised by your doctor. Follow up with your physician to decide further management. Consider checking CRP levels.

View allMy grandmother recent blood reports show the following, sodium level is 119, CRP is 238, and postprandial blood sugar is 582. She also has hypothyroidism and is currently on medication for ischemic heart disease, cholesterol, and hypertension. She is extremely weak and has lost her appetite. Are these report values very serious, and what should be done next?

I got my blood test done yesterday and the results show: Lipoprotein (a): 60.38 mg/dl hsCRP: 3.8 mg/L Total cholesterol: 245 mg/dl LDL: 175 mg/dl I am worried about these values. A day before the test I had cold and throat pain, could that have affected the results, especially hsCRP? I have attached the reports for your review.
