My wife was diagnosed with typhoid fever 3 days ago, but she has been ill for the past week. The doctor prescribed Taximo 400 twice daily and Calpol 650 for fever. However, her fever has remained steady between 101 to 104F for the last 3 days. I am attaching the test report. Could you please advise if we need to worry or consider changing the medication? The doctor mentioned that this might be a rare type of typhoid.

Persistent high fever needs reassessment. Consider repeat blood cultures or switch antibiotics under doctor supervision.

View allI have been experiencing fever around 104F for the past 3 to 4 days, which sometimes comes and goes, along with a bad sore throat, dizziness, flu symptoms, and fatigue. I had a Widal test for typhoid, and the result came back positive. The report also notes that titres in excess of 1:80 are probably significant.

In my blood report S. typhi 1:80 is shown. I have been having fever for one week, which usually comes in the afternoon or evening and starts with chills. My doctor suggested me to take Emal injection for 3 days, and I have already taken one, but I am still concerned about my fever.
