HOMA-IR (Homeostatic Model Assessment of Insulin Resistance) is a test used to determine a person’s chances of developing diabetes. 

Being overweight or not getting enough exercise are some of the factors that can contribute to insulin resistance, which increases the risk of cardiovascular disease and other conditions like stroke.
