Dear Sir, I have chikungunya since 2 days. My CBC report shows MCHC 34, Neutrophils 89, Lymphocytes 6, PDW 16, WBC 6499, and Platelet count 260000. My main symptoms are burning on the tongue and throat due to difficulty in eating. What treatment should I take and what is the reason for burning on the tongue and throat? Is it due to the virus or medication? I also have joint pain and sometimes fever.

Burning in the tongue and throat during chikungunya can occur due to viral infection or dehydration. Some medications used for fever and pain may also cause acidity, leading to throat discomfort. Continue hydration with warm water and soft foods, and avoid spicy foods. Joint pain is common in chikungunya and may persist for weeks. You can book an LFT and Kidney Function Test to monitor organ health during recovery. If burning worsens or you develop severe weakness, consult your doctor.

Take a LIVER FUNCTION TEST (LFT) Test or Take a RENAL PROFILE/KIDNEY FUNCTION TEST (RFT/KFT) Test

Recent blood tests of my mother show some abnormal results, including RBC count of 5.22x1000000/microlitre, platelet count of 134x10000/microlitre (low), PDW of 14.7, fasting glucose of 114.5 mg/dL, ALT (SGPT) of 103.76 U/L (high), and AST (SGOT) of 50.73 U/L (high). She has been experiencing weakness in certain parts of her body, sweating on one side, and a feeling of inner restlessness. She is currently on medications for blood pressure, diabetes, and cholesterol, but has not received a clear diagnosis. Could you please advise on the possible cause of her symptoms and abnormal lab results, the course of treatment, and which specialist doctor she should consult next?

I am experiencing severe discomfort in the upper and middle abdomen, along with bloating and excessive gas. I am currently taking Nexpro L. My epigastric pain has not improved. I have attached my latest blood report and ultrasound. Could you please help me understand which organs might be involved, and whether I can take Rifaximin or Rifagut 200 mg for dyspepsia and gastritis? I would like guidance on the best treatment for dyspepsia, gastritis, and fatty liver.
