Hello Sir/Mam, I have had a fever for three days. On day four, I went to the doctor who advised me to do a blood test. In the test, my ESR is 100. The doctor said there is swelling in my liver and also mentioned that if I get a fever again, I should do a lung X ray. Kindly guide me, is this a serious problem? Why did the doctor suggest a lung X ray? I have also attached the report, please check.

An ESR of 100 indicates inflammation. Mild liver swelling may be due to viral infections or fatty liver. Lung X ray is advised to rule out tuberculosis or hidden lung infection if fever persists or returns. If symptoms reduce, no immediate concern just monitor and retest if needed.
Dr. Dhankecha Suggests...
Take a ESR Test (Erythrocyte Sedimentation Rate) Test or Take a LFT (Liver Function) Test Test
