Hi Doctors, my 5 year old kid has been complaining of fibula pain for more than a year. Last January we did his blood test (CBC and Vitamin D3). We found vitamin D3 deficiency and CBC was ok except for a slightly elevated platelet count as he had cough at that time. We consulted a pediatrician and he told us that the kid will have pain due to vitamin D3 deficiency and nothing to worry. He gave some vitamin D3 medicine and it healed the pain, and he did not complain of pain until this month. He gets pain mostly at night after his outdoor activities like playing in the park. The pain lasts for 2 hours and he finds it difficult to walk, but the next morning he walks properly. Can you please suggest the treatment? Do we need to take him to the pediatrician again or to an orthopedic doctor? Please help.

Night leg pain in active kids often happens due to growing pains or low vitamin D, especially after outdoor play. Since it returns after stopping vitamin D, levels may be low again. Give gentle leg massage and warm compresses for relief. Do a Vitamin D test to check levels. If pain worsens, swelling appears, or walking issues persist, visit your pediatrician or an orthopedic doctor for further evaluation.

I am suffering from vitamin D deficiency, with a level of 8.83 ng/mL. I have been taking D3 Must 60K chewable tablets (1 tablet weekly) from Mankind Pharma and have taken 4 tablets over the past month. Is this safe? If not, what is the alternative and the proper dosage for my level of deficiency? If it is safe, how much longer should I continue this regimen, or should I adjust the frequency (for example, one tablet monthly)? I have attached my report for reference and would like guidance on the correct dosage based on my deficiency.
