I am 77 years old and have a history of type 2 diabetes for the past 32 years, hypertension, and thyroid issues. My creatinine is varying around 1.55, and my conditions are generally controlled with medication, though there are reasonable variations. My blood pressure also fluctuates. However, my pulse rate is always higher than normal, within a range of 90 to 100. I also experience fatigue most of the time. Can you please explain the reason for this, its effects, and possible remedies? Thank you.

Long term diabetes and thyroid issues can raise pulse. Medications or anemia can contribute to high heart rate. Fatigue may come from heart, thyroid, or sugar fluctuations. Dehydration, stress, or low fitness may also affect pulse. Monitoring with routine tests helps track causes. Some tests like CBC, ECG, Thyroid Profile, HbA1C, Electrolytes are essential.

View allDear Sir, My mother is an elderly patient with a history of dyspepsia, hypertension, and hypothyroidism. Her gallbladder was removed 8 years ago. She does not have diabetes, weighs around 95 kg, and is 68 years old. For the past 15 days, she has been experiencing pain in the groin area, which feels more like muscle or blood vessel pain rather than joint pain. I am wondering if this could be related to her elevated TSH level, which is reported as 7.8 in her latest lab report. She is currently taking Thyrox 100, Tazloc H 80, Metolar XR 50, Rose Day 10, and calcium supplements. I have attached her latest lab report and the most recent prescription for your reference. Please advise

Hi doctor, tomorrow my hysterectomy is scheduled and in the pre operative blood test report thyroid has been detected. The doctor advised me to take Thyroxin 50 before coming to the hospital tomorrow. I also take Olmighty 20 mcg daily for hypertension. Could you please suggest if it is a normal procedure to take the thyroid medicine? I am too stressed about it. Any help would be appreciable. Thank you.

Hi Sir, We recently did a thyroid test for my wife, who gave birth 5 months ago. The results are: T3: 2.96, T4: 0.54, TSH: 62. Is this normal after delivery, or should we start treatment? If treatment is started, will her thyroid levels come down to normal?
