I am experiencing hair loss due to thyroid issues and am taking Eltroxin 50 mcg. My recent blood test results came back normal, but I am still suffering from thinning hair. What should I do to manage this?

Hair loss can persist despite normal TSH due to chronic thyroid or iron deficiency. Consider ferritin and Vitamin D testing.
Dr. Yusuf Suggests...
Take a Ferritin Test Test or Take a Vitamin D Test Test

View allHi, I am a 24 year old female experiencing severe hair fall and thinning. I have already lost about 50 percent of the hair on my scalp. My doctor suggested blood tests, which came back normal, and has now prescribed Finasteride tablets. Is it safe for me to take Finasteride? I am planning to get married in the next 6 months, and I have heard it can have side effects. Please advise.

I am experiencing severe hair fall. It first started with itching and hair loss, so I consulted a doctor. She prescribed Allegra, Momate lotion, Scaboma lotion, and a tablet called Bandy Plus. She also advised me to do some tests, including Vitamin B12, Ferritin, Vitamin D, Thyroid, and CBC. My reports came back normal, and while the itching has stopped, the hair fall continues. I am not sure what is causing this. What should I do next? I am attaching my CBC report for your review.

Hello mam, I had hair fall and leg pain, so I tested blood through Thyrocare. There are deficiencies of vitamin D, vitamin B12, and iron. Please check my report. Also, testosterone is 60.
