I am experiencing severe hair loss, with hair falling out in clumps. About 6 months ago, I was diagnosed with polycystic ovaries and borderline hypothyroidism. I took thyroid medication and managed to reverse my PCOD through diet and exercise (my periods are now regular, without medication or birth control). However, my hair has not grown since my last haircut about 7 months ago, and the hair loss is worsening. I am considering starting biotin supplements.

Severe hair loss can continue even after PCOD and thyroid improve, as the body takes time to balance. Hair fall in clumps may also be linked to nutritional deficiencies (like iron, vitamin D, B12, zinc). Growth slows due to hormonal shifts, stress, or diet gaps not always due to a serious issue. Instead of starting supplements directly, get basic blood tests first. Pls get a Pelvic ultrasound done to rule out any Pelvic issues.
