I have been experiencing continuous headache for the past 4 to 5 days along with intermittent fever. My malaria test is negative, and according to the lab assistant, my typhoid test is positive. My typhoid report shows: O: 1:120 TH: 1:60 BH and AH: Not detected I am confused whether this indicates typhoid or not, and if not, what could be causing my headache and fever? Please advise.

Widal test shows possible typhoid if titres are greater than or equal to 1:160, but your titres are borderline. Widal alone is not reliable, get Typhidot IgM or blood culture for confirmation. Persistent headache and fever should be further evaluated by a doctor.

Take a Widal Test Test or Take a Typhoid Test Test

Hello doctor, I am currently undergoing treatment for pleural tuberculosis and have completed 2 months of therapy. I still have a mild fever of 99 to 99.5. My doctor told me to go for a Widal test and after the test he prescribed me cefixime and ofloxacin tablet. Doctor, I am attaching my Widal test report. Can you look at it? Thank you in advance.

Please confirm whether I have typhoid based on my Widal test results, O antigen is 1:160 and H antigen is 1:160. I have heard that values above 1:160 may suggest typhoid. I have been having chills, high fever up to 102.6F, cold, cough, and body aches. After taking Paracetamol, Aceclofenac and Cefigard 200, my symptoms have subsided. Should I continue with the same prescription? Also, my CBP is normal, and the urine report shows pus cells of 5 to 6 HPF and epithelial cells is 2 to 4 HPF.
