I recently got a blood test report showing my Vitamin D level as 18.11 ng/mL. I am experiencing fatigue, unusual joint and muscle aches, and back pain. Could these symptoms be due to low Vitamin D? Should I take Vitamin D3 60,000 IU once a week? Please advise what I should do.

Yes, Vitamin D less than 20 is deficient and may cause your symptoms. You can take 60,000 IU once weekly for 6 to 8 weeks after consulting your doctor.

View allHello Doctor. I have done a full body checkup including blood test, urine test, LFT, and vitamin D. I found my vitamin D level very low at 4.5 ng/ml. Should I go for further tests, or can you suggest some supplements? I have attached my report. One reason for low vitamin D is lack of sunlight exposure, which I will take care of now. Please suggest.

My 25 hydroxy vitamin D value is 10.4 ng/ml. According to the lab report, the minimum should be 20 ng/ml. I have to remain mostly indoors due to the nature of my job. Please suggest the daily dosage of vitamin D and the duration of medication required to attain and maintain normal levels.
