I was recently cured of chickenpox. My blood test report shows a very low serum ferritin level of 15. Sometimes I notice blood in my stool. I am also experiencing a lot of hair fall, and rashes appear on my skin daily. When I take Livogen to improve my serum ferritin, it causes skin rashes, so I am unable to improve my ferritin levels. Kindly guide me on what I should do.

Serum ferritin of 15 is very low and can cause fatigue and hair fall. Since Livogen causes rashes, switch to a gentler iron formulation like Ferric Carboxymaltose (after consulting). You should repeat Iron studies, CBC, and Stool occult blood to rule out chronic blood loss. Definitely take the lab tests to plan treatment.
Dr. Vasanthasree Suggests...
Take a Iron Studies Test Test or Take a CBC Test (Complete Blood Count) Test

I took thyroid medication and managed to reverse my PCOD through diet and exercise (my periods are now regular, without medication or birth control). However, my hair has not grown since my last haircut about 7 months ago, and the hair loss is worsening. I am considering starting biotin supplements.
