I'm a 25-year-old guy, and I'm having some hair issues that I'm really concerned about. Every time I take a shower, I lose about 10 to 20 strands of hair, sometimes even more. It's been worrying me quite a bit, especially because I have curly hair with mild dandruff. If I skip washing my hair for just one day, my scalp gets super oily, and the dandruff gets worse. And when I shave my head, I notice patchy dandruff along with some red spots on my scalp. Is there something I should be worried about here or some steps I can take to address these?

Losing ten to twenty strands is not significant... Maybe the dandruff is causing u to lose hair a little faster than normal... Oil massage at night is good after adding a little lemon... Don't oil in the day as it attracts dust... Do it for some time.. it will definitely improve

I'm really worried about my hair since starting dutasteride and minoxidil 7 months ago. My frontal hairline has receded a whole inch and doesn't look like it used to. My doctor initially said I was at a Norwood 1, but it seems like I've drifted into Norwood 2 territory now. Even though I'm seeing some thin hair regrowing at the temples, my hairline keeps receding. Can you help me figure out what might be going on?

I understand your concern about the progression of hair loss despite using dutasteride and minoxidil. Possible Reasons for Ineffective Treatment 1. Insufficient dosage or duration: Dutasteride and minoxidil may require a longer treatment period or adjustments in dosage to achieve optimal results. 2. Individual variability: People respond differently to treatments. You may need to explore alternative treatments or combinations. 3. Underlying conditions: Certain medical conditions, such as thyroid disorders or autoimmune diseases, can contribute to hair loss. Ensure you've discussed these possibilities with your doctor. Considerations and Next Steps 1. Re-evaluate your treatment plan: Consult your doctor to assess the effectiveness of your current treatment and discuss potential adjustments. 2. Explore alternative treatments: Consider other options, such as: - Low-level laser therapy (LLLT) - Platelet-rich plasma (PRP) therapy - Hair transplantation (if suitable) 3. Maintain a healthy lifestyle: Ensure you're following a balanced diet, staying hydrated, exercising regularly, and managing stress. 4. Monitor progress: Regularly track your hair loss and treatment progress with photos and discussions with your doctor. Possible Adjustments to Your Current Treatment 1. Dutasteride dosage: Your doctor may consider adjusting the dosage or switching to a different medication. 2. Minoxidil strength: You may be able to try a stronger minoxidil solution (e.g., 5% or 10%) or a different formulation (e.g., foam). 3. Combination therapy: Your doctor may recommend combining dutasteride and minoxidil with other treatments, such as finasteride or LLLT.

I'm a 17-year-old girl struggling with a ton of pimples on my face, and the usual acne creams haven't really worked out for me. I'm wondering if Metrogyl Gel could be effective for treating my acne?

Metrogyl Gel, containing metronidazole, is primarily used to treat rosacea, a skin condition characterized by redness, inflammation, and acne-like symptoms. While it might help with acne, its effectiveness for this purpose is limited. For acne treatment, consider the following: 1. Benzoyl peroxide-based creams or gels (2.5% or 5%) for mild to moderate acne. 2. Salicylic acid-based products (0.5% or 2%) for blackheads and whiteheads. 3. Sulfur-based products for their antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties. Consult a dermatologist for personalized advice and treatment. They may prescribe topical or oral medications, such as retinoids, antibiotics, or hormonal treatments, depending on your acne severity and type.
