I'm really worried about my hair since starting dutasteride and minoxidil 7 months ago. My frontal hairline has receded a whole inch and doesn't look like it used to. My doctor initially said I was at a Norwood 1, but it seems like I've drifted into Norwood 2 territory now. Even though I'm seeing some thin hair regrowing at the temples, my hairline keeps receding. Can you help me figure out what might be going on?

I understand your concern about the progression of hair loss despite using dutasteride and minoxidil.
Possible Reasons for Ineffective Treatment
- Insufficient dosage or duration: Dutasteride and minoxidil may require a longer treatment period or adjustments in dosage to achieve optimal results.
- Individual variability: People respond differently to treatments. You may need to explore alternative treatments or combinations.
- Underlying conditions: Certain medical conditions, such as thyroid disorders or autoimmune diseases, can contribute to hair loss. Ensure you've discussed these possibilities with your doctor.
Considerations and Next Steps
- Re-evaluate your treatment plan: Consult your doctor to assess the effectiveness of your current treatment and discuss potential adjustments.
- Explore alternative treatments: Consider other options, such as:
- Low-level laser therapy (LLLT)
- Platelet-rich plasma (PRP) therapy
- Hair transplantation (if suitable)
- Maintain a healthy lifestyle: Ensure you're following a balanced diet, staying hydrated, exercising regularly, and managing stress.
- Monitor progress: Regularly track your hair loss and treatment progress with photos and discussions with your doctor.
Possible Adjustments to Your Current Treatment
- Dutasteride dosage: Your doctor may consider adjusting the dosage or switching to a different medication.
- Minoxidil strength: You may be able to try a stronger minoxidil solution (e.g., 5% or 10%) or a different formulation (e.g., foam).
- Combination therapy: Your doctor may recommend combining dutasteride and minoxidil with other treatments, such as finasteride or LLLT.

View allSo, I recently got a shave at the barber's, and there was a pimple near my moustache. The razor blade nicked it, and I was bleeding a bit. I saw the barber change the blade, so I'm pretty sure it was new, but I'm still worried. Is there any risk of HIV from this? Could you help me figure out if I should be concerned?

I accidentally pulled out a tiny broken piece from my toenail and now there's some light redness and swelling on the side of my right toenail. I've been soaking my feet in warm water as a warm compress, but Im wondering if its okay to use Soframycin as an ointment to help with this. Does that sound like a good idea, or should I be doing something else?
Candid ceam is advised for local application, for 2-3 weeks and rest continue same treatment.

I've got these small itchy bumps in my pubic area that keep spreading and look really bad. They don't cause major issues besides the itching, but I'm worried about how they're multiplying. Could you recommend any creams or meds to make them fade or go away? I'd prefer not to do surgery right now.
Itchy, spreading bumps in the pubic area could be due to various reasons, ranging from simple skin irritations to infections. While you can try some over-the-counter treatments, it's best to consult a doctor for a proper diagnosis and treatment plan, especially if the bumps are spreading or cause significant discomfort.
