I'm wondering if it's okay to rinse my mouth with fresh water after using Betadine for gargling. Also, if I can't rinse, is it safe to swallow the saliva that comes after gargling, because I read somewhere it might cause thyroid issues? My uvula is looking really red and I can see a lot of veins on it. There's also a small sore on the side. I don't have a fever, but it feels really dry and uncomfortable in the mornings. Should I be worried about this? What could be causing it?
