Question

I'm feeling really uncomfortable because I gargled too much with salt water about a week ago, and now my throat is all scratchy and looks white inside. I've taken some meds, but they havent helped at all. My lips are super dry, and I've even lost my sense of taste. I dont have any cough, cold, or fever, but this throat issue is making me feel really uneasy. When I look in the mirror, my throat looks all patchy and it even burns inside. I'm really concerned about this because I've never felt anything like it before. Any idea whats going on or what I should do?

It sounds like the excessive saltwater gargling might have irritated your throat, leading to dryness and discomfort. To help, try drinking plenty of water, avoid further saltwater gargles, and use a humidifier to keep the air moist. If the burning sensation and dryness persist, a throat soothing lozenge or mild throat spray may help. If symptoms continue, it would be wise to consult a doctor for further evaluation.
