I'm having trouble hearing in my left ear. It gets better when I pull my earlobe, but as soon as I let go, I can't hear even the quietest sounds. What could be going on with my ear?

I drank and smoked a lot the other night, and I ended up vomiting pretty badly. I also smoked and drank again later that night. Since then, I've had a sore throat, but what really worried me was when I noticed traces of blood when I cleared my throat a few times yesterday. It's not happening anymore, but it got me thinking.
