I'm really worried about my mom. She's 68 and has a celiac condition, and her ESR just came back at 61, which seems high to me. Her hemoglobin is 9.6 gm, and she's also undergoing treatment for CLD. I'm trying to figure out why her ESR is so elevated. Plus, she's developed these allergy-like pimples on her back and stomach. Could these issues be related? What could be causing this?

I've been dealing with a scratchy throat that keeps coming and going for the last six months. It doesn't really hurt or cause major issues, just feels a bit rough sometimes. Plus, for the past two months, I've noticed my papillae are inflamed, which might be why I have this white coating on my tongue. I've visited ENT specialists, but the antibiotics they prescribe don't make a difference. The scratchy throat seems to come and go, but the inflamed papillae and that scrappable white coating on my tongue aren't going away. What could be causing these symptoms? Should I be worried or try something different?

It sounds like you might be dealing with chronic irritation, possibly due to post-nasal drip or a mild infection, which can lead to a scratchy throat and inflamed papillae. The white coating on your tongue, which is scrappable, could indicate a fungal overgrowth or poor oral hygiene. If antibiotics aren't helping, it might be worth revisiting the ENT specialist for a more targeted approach, such as antifungal treatment or addressing any underlying reflux or immune system factors.

I'm dealing with a stone at the neck of my gallbladder that's causing a lot of swelling. The doctor mentioned that an operation can't be done right now because of this swelling. I'm in a lot of pain and not sure what options I have. Is there anything else that can be done to help with the pain or reduce the swelling?

-It sounds really uncomfortable, and I'm sorry you're dealing with this. For now, you can try managing the pain with medications prescribed by your doctor, stay on a low-fat diet to reduce strain on your gallbladder, and stay hydrated. Follow up regularly
