I'm thinking about getting my ear wax removed and I'm a little nervous. What's the normal procedure like? Will it hurt? How long does it usually take? And is there anything I should do to prepare beforehand?

View allI'm really concerned about a lump I've noticed slightly behind where my left tonsil was removed about 8 years ago. It doesn't hurt and seems to be the same color as the rest of my throat. I don't have any trouble eating, but when I dry swallow or just swallow saliva, it feels like there's phlegm stuck in my throat. It's been there for a couple of months now, and I'm just so aware of it all the time. Is it something I should be worried about, like throat cancer? I've attached a picture too.
No need to worry, that could be normal lymphnodes or mucus retention cyst, visit ENT doctor for evaluation and appropriate management

My son has an adenoids issue and the doctor suggested surgery, but we're really hesitant about going that route. Is there any other alternative treatment or option available for this that doesn't involve surgery?
You can opt for conservative management as well but getting operated and removed fas it is the solution for it.
